Bloomsburg Track Teams Races at PSAC East Meet
MEET RESULTS
LOCK HAVEN--The Bloomsburg University men's and women's track team competed at the PSAC East Challenge meet at Lock Haven University on Saturday.
Bloomsburg's versatile Connie Raineri (Gilbertsvill/St. Pius X) took part in four events for the Huskies and was outstanding in all four. At 11 a.m. she competed in the long jump and finished fourth of 15 competitors with a mark of 17 feet, 3 1/2 inches. At noon she raced at 400 meters and finished second in a time of 59.81 seconds. At 1 p.m., Raineri ran a PSAC championship-qualifying time of 26.69 seconds in the 200 meters, then, completed her day by anchoring the 4 x 400 relay team. Raineri took the baton for the final lap trailing her nearest competitor by 30 meters. She quickly made up the deficit and helped the Huskies to a fourth-place finish.
In the women's 3000-meter race, both Amber Hackenberg (Middleburg/Middleburg) and Mary Bacher (New Tripoli/Allentown Central Catholic) ran PSAC-qualifying times with Hackenberg taking fourth in 10:342 and Bacher seventh in 10:51.
At 5000-meters, Jaime Fiscus (Fredon, NY/Kittatinny Regional) broke the 20-minute barrier with a time of 19:58, while in the steeplechase, Sarah Bounds (Shippensburg/Shippensburg) was second in a conference qualifying time of 12:12.
On the men's side, Greg McGhee (Philadelphia/Cheltenham) finished second at 100-meters in a PSAC-qualifying time of 11:27 seconds and was fourth at 200-meters in 22.62 seconds.
In the steeplechase, Jim Stockley (Elverson/Twin Valley) was fourth in a time of 10:16.
At 5000-meters, Justin Shepherd (Cranberry Twp/Seneca Valley) took second in a time of 15:20 with Mike Espinosa (Media/Penncrest) finishing sixth in 15:44. Also, Mikhail Litvinov (Drums/Hazleton) was seventh in 15:48 with Tim Marcoe (Lansdale/Lansdale Catholic) eighth in 16:00 and Dave Sanford (Nescopeck/Central Columbia) 10th in 16:06.
